Valley Regional Fire & Rescue/Butler Twp Fire Company/Conyngham Fire Department is NOT Conducting phone or door to door solicitations for chimney cleanings. We have had several reports that the informants state there is a law that you must have your chimney cleaned yearly or face a fine.
This is a SCAM.
Never give any cash, checks, or credit card information out to anyone that you haven't called yourself. Please contact your plumber or heating technician if you have any concerns about the proper cleaning requirements of your chimney.
Anyone receiving these calls should record the phone number from caller I.D. if available and call Butler Twp Police at 570-788-4111 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call 911 after hours or in case of emergency.

2014/2015 AMBULANCE DRIVE IS NOW UNDER WAY
To Residents of Butler Township and Conyngham Borough:
Since 2008 Valley Regional Ambulance has responded to people in need of care at all hours of the day and night. To continue to provide modern and appropriate care we are holding our annual membership drive.
Once the patient is placed in our ambulance it literally becomes an extension of the emergency room. The medic in charge is in contact with the hospital and has the knowledge and the equipment to help you. Remember, we live in a rural setting. A patient has to be treated and prepared on their trip to the Emergency Room, due to the amount of time it can take to get them there.
The membership drive will assist us with two projects we are undertaking, both of which will help you in the event you need service.
- The first project includes the purchase of a new ambulance. Repairing our existing older ambulance is no longer cost effective, and it often costs more to repair than it is worth. The cost of a new ambulance varies in price from $100,000 to $140,000.
- The second project includes the purchase of a new heart monitor to replace our current one. A heart monitor is vital to a heart attack patient as it relays information about the patient's condition from the ambulance to the Emergency Room. It helps the ER staff prepare for treatment and saves time when only seconds matter in trying to save someone's life. The cost of a new heart monitor is approximately $15,000.
Your membership donation ensures two things; that we have the proper equipment to help you, and that you will not be responsible for the cost of an ambulance trip over and beyond what your insurance pays. This means there will be no additional charge for your trip other than your Medicare or insurance payment.
Please note, we do not offer return trips from the hospital or inter-facility transportation.
